FREE OF CHARGE
CHILDREN: up to 5 years of age
are free of charge in attendance of a paying passenger.
CHILDREN from 6 to 14 years of age pay the minimum-fare if they are able to proof their age through showing an official document which provides information on their date of birth.
FAMILIES with a Salzburger Familienpass (alternatively also family passes of other federal states of Austria). All accompanied and registered children under the age of 15 travel free of charge. Each travelling adult pays minimum-fare.
DISABLED VETERANS with a Disabled Veterans Card. A companion and/or a service, signal or guide dog is/are permitted to accompany the person free of charge. Holders of a ÖBB-ÖSTERREICHCARD Spezial travel free of charge as well.
VISUALLY IMPAIRED RIDERS with an handicapped ID (issued by the Austrian federal social assistance office) or a membership proof of the Austrian visual impaired organization. A companion and/or a service, signal or guide dog is/are permitted to accompany the person free of charge.
PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES – If the disabled person uses a wheelchair or holds a pass that indicates “The holder of this pass is allowed to travel with a companion”, a companion and/or a service, signal or guide dog is/are permitted to accompany the person free of charge.
TEENS from 15 to 18 years of age are eligible to purchase the youth fare for single ride, hour, day and 24-hour tickets at a ~30 % reduced fare compared to the full price.
CHILDREN’s AND YOUTH GROUPS
* 4 attendants are allowed to travel for free if they accompany 11-20 kindergartners.
* 6 attendants are allowed to travel for free if they accompany 21-30 kindergartners etc.
To travel for free it is necessary to carry along a written confirmation of the kindergarten management with the day of travel, signature and seal. The confirmation has to include information on the number of children, attendants and the route.
N.B.: Only kindergartens within the area of Salzburg are entitled to travel free of charge under the conditions named above.
CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH GROUPS
The minimum fare tariff applies for such groups if at least ten paying children or adolescents need to be accompanied on the same route.
For ten attended children or adolescents, two attendants can travel for free.
If the ticket is bought on a regional bus the whole fare needs to be paid by one attendant.
All other persons and age groups travel at full fare.
