Data protection / privacy statement
Usually personal data of the respective user are not captured when using our online platforms (e.g. Salzburg Verkehr app). If personal data (e.g. name, age, address, email-address) is submitted to us by users (e.g. when contacting us via email), this happens – as far as possible – on voluntary basis. This personal data will not be disclosed to third parties without explicit approval of the user.
Server log files
We collect data upon each user access/request (server log files). This data includes in particular:
Name of the requested website, file, date and time of access, volume of data transmitted, report on successful access, browser type and version, the operating system of the user, referrer (URL of the previous page we’ve been linked on), IP address of the user, anonymised device identification.
The data collected will only be used for statistical purposes and for improving our offer regarding the operation and security of our apps. However, we reserve the right to subsequently review the log files later if there is any suspicion of illegal use based on specific indications.
Our smart phone apps use Google Analytics or Piwik, a software to statistically evaluate user access which uses so-called cookies. Cookies are text files which are stored on the computer of the user and which allow the analysis of website usage. The information generated by the cookie will be stored on our servers in a EU-country. The IP address is anonymised immediately after being processed and before being stored. The users can prevent the installation of the cookies by making relevant adjustments to the settings of their browser software.
Features of the apps
Location based content
Our apps need access to the position of your device. When a request is made we identify your current location via GPS to quickly provide information on your immediate surroundings. Location data is used for the purpose of processing your request only. The data is transferred via an encrypted connection. Your location data is anonymised upon completion of your request and is statistically evaluated to improve our service. If the app displays further information about the surrounding area, this area refers to the currently displayed contents and to the current location of the user. The stored data does not exceed the last ten visited locations.
Augmented reality function
Our timetable app needs access to the camera of your terminal device, so you can use the augmented reality function for displaying information about your surroundings, such as stops or routing instructions, directly in the camera image.
When using our apps the recently resp. the most frequently used content is being stored in order to automatically generate a list of the user’s favourites. This list of favourites enables the user to access the stored contents immediately. The amount of accesses is only counted and stored within the particular app on the user’s terminal device. The data is not transferred to a server on the internet. If a list of favourites has been generated, the user is able to delete this data at all times.
Access to address book
Our apps need access to the address book of your terminal device, so you can search connections including pedestrian routing from your current position, see stops close to you and view your position on the map. After the installation of our apps you can decide whether you want to allow access to the address book or not. In the app settings you can give or revoke access at any time.
Sharing of contents
Our apps enable the user to share the contents and assessments with other apps, e.g. via e-mail or social media. The data will only be submitted to the operation system of the user’s terminal device when the sharing-button is clicked.
The operation system can transfer the submitted data to other apps installed on the terminal device which support the processing of shared data. Further data processing results from the privacy statements of the particular app.
Beyond the services provided by our website and apps we adjust different contents via social media and app stores which are operated by third parties. When using our website or apps no data is transmitted to linked external services without clicking on the according link to connect with the external service.
