Journeys can currently be booked from all stops served by regular services, as well as from various additional Salzburg Verkehr shuttle stops in the service area.

Salzburg Verkehr shuttles can generally be booked for up to eight people (minibuses used). However, the maximum number depends on current capacity.

Marked assistance dogs, therapy dogs and police dogs are carried free of charge and with no requirement to wear a muzzle. However, please also book a free “assistance dog” ticket for your dog, in order to guarantee a space for your dog.

Journeys are possible from one stop to another. These are selected such that the nearest stop is within walking distance.

Yes, pushchairs and wheelchairs are transported at for no extra charge. It is essential to specify transport of the pushchair or wheelchair at the time of booking (“Luggage ticket” or “Wheelchair ticket”). Unfortunately, the Goldegg Shuttle cannot currently be booked barrier-free (as of December 12, 2024).

In which vehicle will I be collected?

Accepted Answer

All journeys are provided by a local company. The vehicles are branded in the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund design, and they are therefore easily recognisable. Moreover, registration numbers are displayed in the Salzburg Verkehr shuttle app shortly before departure. The vehicles used are cars and minibuses. The number of vehicles used varies on each shuttle service.

You can book a Salzburg Verkehr shuttle no later than 20 minutes before the planned departure.

By law, a child seat is not required. However, it is recommended to bring and use your own appropriate seat or an appropriate booster seat.

The Salzburg Verkehr shuttle automatically pools journey requests. Under certain circumstances (similar routes and journey times), individual journeys are pooled into communal journeys. This may result in a slight detour in some cases and the vehicle is shared with other passengers, as is the case with conventional public transport.

Journeys can be booked during the respective service times (see respective shuttle service). Availability is dependent on the respective actual vehicle capacity. Journeys can be booked up to 30 days in advance and it is recommended that you book in good time.

The Salzburg Verkehr shuttle is a part of the existing public transport network and encourages bus and rail connections. Any required connections will be indicated at the time of booking; there is no option for customers to choose.

Journeys can be made only during operating hours. The first journey is arranged in consideration of the arrival time at the respective departure stop. The operating hours are listed with the respective shuttle service.

Children under the age of 6 can travel only when accompanied (by someone no younger than 7).

In addition, you can buy a wheelchair ticket for a barrier-free journey. Ideally, the start and destination stop (name of number) will be stated. You can equally state the start and destination address. In this case, information about the walk to the stop will also be provided.

If you wish to arrive at a specific time, please use the “Arrival at” function. The arrival time is satisfied here, but the departure time may change slightly, as journeys are pooled and a slight detour may be made.

Every Salzburg Verkehr shuttle is fully integrated into the Salzburg Verkehr fares. This means regular public transport customers can travel for free with the following tickets:

Other SVV tickets such as weekly, day or single tickets also allow you to travel for free. In the case of digital booking, payment is made online in the Salzburg Verkehr shuttle app (not yet possible at present – cash payment in the vehicle at present; status: 01.10.2024), or directly to the driver in the case of (analogue) telephone booking.

The standard price for a journey by Salzburg Verkehr shuttle is the same as a SVV ticket for one or more zones.

Special fares apply on certain Salzburg Verkehr shuttles – these are listed with the respective shuttle service, if applicable.

How does booking work with the Salzburg Verkehr shuttle app?

1. Download the Salzburg Verkehr shuttle app

To download the app, please simply use your smartphone to scan the QR code below, or search for the Salzburg Verkehr shuttle App in one of the app stores and download it from there.

2. Create a user account

Register – To do this, enter your data and then confirm this with the code received.

3. Complete the booking and payment

– Enter the start and destination locations under “Find Journey”. Select the desired date and time, and click on “Continue”.

– Now select your desired ticket and enter the number of passengers to be carried. Click on “Find Journey”.

– Click on the “Suggested Journey”. The distance to the boarding point, the shuttle journey, and the walk from the alighting point to the destination are displayed clearly. Please click here and on “Select”, then click on “Book now”.

– Payment is made online in the Salzburg Verkehr shuttle app (not yet possible at present – cash payment in the vehicle at present; status: 01.10.2024). Payment is currently made on departure, if no SVV season ticket is available.

Can animals be carried?

Yes, the carriage of animals is permitted, but not guaranteed. For larger animals, please book a “Dog ticket” for each animal.

Are assisting companions carried free of charge?

Yes, an assisting companion will be carried free of charge, as long as the disabled person is in a wheelchair or his/her disability pass shows the endorsement “The holder of this pass requires an assisting companion.” Please select a free “companion ticket” here.

When do I have to be at the departure stop?

A short time slot (with the earliest and latest departure/arrival time) is stated at the time of booking. In the case of app bookings, the exact departure time is sent in a message before departure. However, please be at your stop already at the earliest departure time.

Important:

A minimal change in departure/arrival times may occur, owing to additional bookings that are made subsequently by other passengers.

The Salzburg Verkehr shuttle is a barrier-free micro public transport (or on-demand) mobility solution from Salzburg Verkehr, which functions as an addition to the existing public transport network. The Salzburg Verkehr shuttle functions as an addition to the existing public transport network. It uses cars/minibuses within various defined service areas and periods. These run from one stop to another, as required and with no fixed timetable. Journeys can be booked at any time, as required. To be able to distinguish the different Salzburg Verkehr shuttles between the individual regions, each has its own name (e.g. the “Loigom-Soifen shuttle” in Leogang and Saalfelden).

How much and what type of luggage can I take?

Objects that can be fitted into a conventional car boot (e.g. suitcases, scooters, pushchairs) can be carried. The carriage of objects is free of charge. For larger luggage (e.g. pushchairs, large suitcases), please also book “Luggage” for each item.

Important:

Ski and bicycle transport is generally not possible. Any exceptions are stated in the respective shuttle services and must be specified at the time of booking – e.g. when booking, simply select “Ski equipment” in addition.
